The FT Team visit Europe

In late-September, the FT Team attended the first AstroEDU conference held at the Supernova Planetarium & Visitor Centre at the European Southern Observatory in Garching, near Munich.

This three-day event was organised by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and brought together astronomy educators from all over the world. As well as lots of talks, Fraser Lewis from the FT Team ran an hour-long workshop to 30 participants demonstrating resources from the Faulkes Telescope Project, Down2Earth and the National Schools’ Observatory (NSO).

In the same week, the FT and NSO presented two posters at the EPSC-DPS (EuropeanPlanetary Science Conference/Division for Planetary Science) Joint Meeting 2019 held in Geneva. The two posters presented featured FTP’s successes and future plans with solar system observations and the NSO’s research project activities designed for students around open clusters and exoplanets.
