Visit Greece and Mars this summer !

The Faulkes Telescope Project will be contributing to a week-long summer school run by PLATON (http://platon-project.eu) called “The Mars Mission” for teachers held at Marathon Beach near Athens in Greece in July.

The summer school is funded by the Erasmus + program to all teachers in Europe. It’s designed for teachers in STEM subjects and will demonstrate how they can integrate space related themes in their teaching using interdisciplinary learning and inquiry-based science teaching techniques.

The goals of the course are:

  • To upgrade teachers current practices by introducing to them intedisciplinary learning and  inquiry-based science teaching.
  • To foster collaboration between teachers of the same school unit.
  • To develop confidence in the use of contemporary ICT based tools
  • To enable teachers to integrate space-related themes in their teaching and inspire their students in following space-oriented careers.
