In June and July, Fraser from the FT team attended the European Week of Astronomy and Space Science (EWASS) conference in sunny Prague and the National Astronomy Meeting (NAM) in Hull.

EWASS brought together astronomers and educators from all parts of Europe and beyond. The science done by the Faulkes Telescopes was highlighted in a poster on a black hole binary system called Swift J1357.2-0933 created by Assistant Professor David Russell (of New York University Abu Dhabi) and his student, Ahlam Al Qasim. This science shown in this poster has also been produced as part of a paper submitted to The Astrophysical Journal which can be read here.

Next year, both conferences will be combined where around 1200 delegates are expected to attend a week-long conference being held in April 2018 in Liverpool.
