In July, Fraser from the FT team took part in the Erasmus + funded Astronomy Adventures in the Canary Islands teacher training event. The event featured 43 teachers from Europe, Malaysia and the US and took place at the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (IAC). It included trips to Teide and Roque de los Muchachos Observatories, in Tenerife and La Palma, to visit telescopes such as the Gran Telescopio de Canarias (GTC), the William Herschel Telescope and the MAGIC telescopes.
The training is an annual event run in conjunction with the IAC and the Núcleo Interactivo de Astronomia (NUCLIO) and, as well as the telescope visits, features lectures and hands-on activities.
You can read more about the event here and here and ESEA opportunities here
