Supernova in Centaurus A

This is a composite of 3 images taken in 3 filters by Dr. Fraser Lewis from the FT team of the Centaurus A galaxy. Just to the right of the galactic centre, next to a brighter star, there is a supernova (SN2016adj). The supernova was discovered on the 8th February, 2016 by Greg Bock and Peter Marples. For more information check out our news article here

We would like to fill this gallery with images of the supernova and its beautiful host galaxy. If you want to make some observations for yourself, check out our target page for details and on the object and some observing tips!

When you're done, send us your results and we'll upload them to our gallery!
