Using the real time simulator

I understand the RT simulator is not supported but recently I have been unable to login (despite being able to login successfully about a month ago). I have tried the simulator associated with the actual control login but wanted to practice a few more times before my actual book-in time.

The simulator seems to fail the browser certificate which I understand is usual and I override this error. Only to be told that I am unable to login ... Explorer and Chrome give no indication as to what is happening but Firefox does reveal the following ...

"Unfortunately, your browser has been unable to provide the
server with the current time of your computer, so we are
unable to log you in. Please try again, or contact the
control centre for assistance"

I have turned off my firewall but it still reports the same error... any idea?

Thank you

Hi Robert,

The simulator is known to be problematic, and quite often pops up a
browser certificate check (depending on the browser though - I just
tried it with Firefox, and it let me log in with no problem!). We normally
suggest that people use the RTI walkthrough to practise having a session
on the telescope (which can be found here: http://faulkes-telescope.com/support/rti_demo) as it's much more reliable, and you can still practise on the controls with this.

Thanks,

Sarah
