NGC 2359 : Thor's Helmet
This nebula is located some 16,000 light years away in the constellation Canis Major. It is one of the larger and brighter emission nebulae in the southern hemisphere.
The gas and dust in this nebula is being excited and giving off light thanks to radiation from the Wolf-Rayet star at its core.
