Image of the Week
This is an image of part of the famous Orion Nebula, M42 taken by the Spaceguard Centre in Knighton. The exposure time for this image was 15 seconds in colour.
M42 lies at a distance of approximately 1600 light years and is the brightest diffuse nebula in the sky. It was descovered in 1610 by Nicholas-Claude Fabri de Peiresc and it is rewarding to telescopes of any size.
