New Faulkes Telescope Project Website

Welcome to the New Faulkes Telescopes Project website. We have changed the look of the site but hopefully you will find the structure is not too different to the old site. We have aimed at making navigating through the site more intuitive, but if you have any problems finding things, please email info@faulkes-telescope.com.

New features are:

New look and feel:
We have redesigned the website in accordance with many different users' suggestions. The new site is built on the old one so you should be able to find all of the old features e.g. educational materials, but the logical flow has been improved. Some of the telescope control screens have been changed to display more information about the state of the telescope.
Tabbed browsing:
You can move to the 3 different sections of the site by clicking on the tabs on the left of the screen; General information is available from the 'Faulkes Telescope' tab, specific telescope and control information (including bookings) from the 'Take Control', and all of the science and education unit webpages from the 'Science and Education' tab.
Controlling the telescope:
Once you have logged in, click on the 'Take Control' tab on the left-hand side of the page. This will display the countdown timer for your next session (if you have one booked) and also an inset of the telescope status.
Compatibility:
The new website has been designed to be more compatible with web browsers other than Internet Explorer. Users of Opera, Firefox and Safari will be able to use the website fully.
Simulator access:
Soon the way that you access the simulator will change, and it will not need you to open firewall ports. More on this soon.
