Development Partners test FT North

The Faulkes Telescope Project has been working with a small number of Development Partners over the last month who have been testing the Real Time Interface, which is used to control the telescopes, and also the educational materials. This phase of telescope testing has been extremely useful and has enabled the team to refine the system.

The whole website has been open to the Development Partners to explore and many different observations have been carried out. Kings School Canterbury is one of the groups who have been using FTN and they have been observing the aptly named Canterbury asteroid which was discovered in 1985. The asteroid is in the Main belt and the following movie was made from images imags taken through the V filter over a 50 minute interval. The image exposure time was between 60 - 180 seconds.

The movie below shows the asteroid moving across the sky (can you spot it?) and was made using Photoshop.
