Upcoming Teacher Training Event - Jan 20th 2012 - North Wales
The Faulkes Telescope Project and National Schools’ Observatory, working with Careers Wales North West, are pleased to announce that they are running a training workshop (aimed at secondary school educators) in Bangor University on 20th January 2012. The workshop is supported by funds from the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and is free to attend, and is accredited by the international Galileo Teacher Training Programme (GTTP).
The one-day workshop (10am-4pm) will serve as an introduction to using (freely available) robotic telescopes and astronomical data in the classroom, and also cover a variety of free astronomy/space science resources suitable for KS3-KS5 science and GCSE Astronomy students.
The course has a significant practical element where teachers will carry out the exercises that we are recommending they use with their students.
If you are interested in attending the training day in Bangor (or any future training events), please contact:firstname.lastname@example.org or phone Aron Williams (Careers Wales North West) on 01248 672800 to book your place.
