Upcoming teacher training courses

The Faulkes Telescope Project and National Schools’ Observatory are pleased to announce that they are running a number of training workshops (aimed at secondary school educators) in the upcoming  year, with the first due to be held on 4th November 2011 in Nottingham Trent University. These workshops are supported by funds from the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and are free to attend, and they are accredited by the international Galileo Teacher Training Programme (GTTP).

These one-day workshops (10am-4pm) will serve as an introduction to using (freely available) robotic telescopes and astronomical data in the classroom, and also cover a variety of free astronomy/space science resources suitable for KS3-KS5 science and GCSE Astronomy students.

The course has a significant practical element where teachers will carry out the exercises that we are recommending they use with their students.

If you are interested in attending the training day in Nottingham (or any future training events), please contact:info@faulkes-telescope.com
