Hubble Images Star Formation Region
A new dazzling image of the star formation region, NGC3603, has been released by NASA.
Thousands of young stars lie within the giant nebula NGC 3603. This is one of the most massive young star clusters in our Milky Way Galaxy. NGC 3603 is to be found in the Carina spiral arm, around 20,000 light-years away.
This latest image from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope shows a young star cluster surrounded by a vast region of dust and gas. The image reveals stages in the life cycle of stars.
NGC3603 has the co-ordinates
RA 11 15 09.1
dec -61 16 17
and is visible from FT South from early November
